- Data from ETHZ VAW transformed into the local Swiss co-ordinate system (CH1903) and also WGS84 for the Bas Glacier d'Arolla. The pinning point is 2009. This produces approximately the correct position of the Bas glacier terminus in 1987 (at the end of the 1970s and 1980s advance) and which was also the terminus of the glacier around 1957. The calculations take into account a small but significant change in primary glacier direction down valley of the 1948 position.
